In the second half of 2018, the Cambodian government has officially launched a new strategy for the cassava production and processing industry. Its cassava policy will turn Cambodia into a world-recognized industrial base for cassava processing and supply. This policy will provide development vision and prospects for the development of the cassava production chain, ensuring Cambodia cassava production and processing has high yields and high economic benefit to meet the needs of domestic and foreign markets.
Commerce Minister Pan Sorasak said in a Phnom Penh national policy on cassava industry that the new strategy for Cambodia cassava production and processing will cover five years from 2018 to 2022, with the aim of making Cambodia the birthplace of the cassava processing industry.
